Hi, I’m Caiti — Welcome to Caiti Rose Photography

If you’re reading this, chances are you’re planning one of the biggest days of your life, and somehow you ended up here. I’m glad you did. Grab a coffee (or, let’s be honest, whatever’s left in your cup from three hours ago) and let me introduce myself properly.

The Short Version

I’m Caiti Loomis, the photographer, editor, and occasional chaos-wrangler behind Caiti Rose Photography. I’m based in Moses Lake, Washington, and I photograph weddings and portraits across the Columbia Basin and Eastern Washington — with a car full of camera gear and zero hesitation about hitting the road for the right couple.

I shoot documentary-style. That means I’m not going to spend your wedding day herding you into fifteen forced poses in front of a fountain. I’m going to hang back, watch for the real moments — your dad’s face when he sees you, the way your now-husband laughs when he’s nervous, your grandmother sneaking a second piece of cake — and I’m going to capture those. I call it Quiet Life Documentary, and it’s less a style than a philosophy: your day is already beautiful. My job is to notice it.

The Longer Version

Before there was a business, there was a girl in a darkroom. I started developing film back in 2012, and something about watching an image slowly appear out of nothing — under red light, in a tray of chemicals, with absolutely no ability to check the back of the camera and try again — hooked me for life. Film taught me patience. It taught me to see a moment before it happens, because you don’t get infinite chances to catch it. That instinct never left me, even now that most of my work is digital (with film incorporated and available). 

I built my first photography business in Portland and Seattle, learning the craft in two of the most competitive markets in the Pacific Northwest. Then life — and the Army — took me elsewhere. I served about ten years in the U.S. Army, including a deployment to the Middle East, before eventually settling in Moses Lake with my partner, Eric, our kids, and our dog, Rosie, who has strong opinions about being included in family portraits.

Starting over in a new market, from scratch, was humbling. But it also gave me the chance to build Caiti Rose Photography exactly the way I wanted it: rooted in faith, grounded in honesty, and built around real people instead of Pinterest boards.

What “Saved by Grace” Means to Me

My faith isn’t a footnote in my business — it’s the foundation. “Saved by Grace” is more than a tagline I put on my website; it’s how I try to move through the world and how I try to show up for my clients. Weddings are stressful. Life is stressful. Grace, to me, means giving people room to be imperfect, showing up prepared so you don’t have to worry about the details, and treating every couple I work with like they matter — because they do.

A Few Things You Should Know About Me

• I have a Canon R6 and a 50mm f/1.4 lens that I am borderline attached to. Natural light is my favorite light.
• My sense of humor runs dry and self-deprecating — if you send me a slightly unhinged text at 11pm about your seating chart, I will not judge you, and I will probably respond with something equally unhinged.
• I have Bridgerton, The Office, and Parks and Recreation on a permanent rotation. If you want to bond over any of the three, I’m your girl.
• I am, at my core, a veteran who learned to notice small, important details because I had to. I bring that same attention to your wedding day.

What You Can Expect Working With Me

No forced posing marathons. No disappearing for six months after your wedding, wondering if your photos fell into a black hole. No pretentiousness, no ring lights, no “just be natural” while I stand there awkwardly waiting for it to happen. Just someone who shows up early, pays attention, laughs with your people, and hands you back a gallery that actually feels like your day — not a stock photo of your day.
